Default In regards to moneygram and shipping.

This thread could be in either this one or the shipment thread.. Regardless..

Lately, I have started to become concerned. Not for any particular reason. But for awhile now I have been sending a MG at the same location (Walmart) for the same amount(ish) 600-800 dollars, 3 times a week, to the same location. Each week its different receivers. And each week UPS comes knocking on my door 3 times per week.

I guess I am asking if I should be concerned. If anyone else has done this for awhile.. and like.. Well to me it seems that I am sort of a red flag. Like who gets 3 packages from southern California every 2 days, except weekends, continuously the same type of package, for months on end. It just makes me wonder.....
    maybe MG doesn't care.
    Maybe UPS doesn't care..
Maybe I am paranoid.. But I am wanting advice on things I should do, if anything I should do. Or if this is just be being paranoid.

To help things out I sell a lot on eBay and Amazon. So I receive and send around 10 packages a week. The 3 included might not be anything to look at as I am, like I said, an Amazon and eBay buyer/seller. That job is a lot of hassle and I only make around 100 a week off doing it... I have slowed down lately as it isn't worth it.. But the iPhone apps have made it easier and I can send and receive things with much more ease now.

Thanks all.. And let me know what you think.

@Azzamean - I don't know anything for sure, just personal experience and what I've gleaned from others forum posts over the years, but here is my $.02, since no one else replied yet.

I would not be as concerned about the shipping (esp if you are sending amd receiving regularly for other purposes as you mentioned) as I would be concerned about MG. MG became much more prevelant several months ago with the SY vendors when WU started red flagging receivers (esp from TJ), closing senders accounts, and capping how much one could send in a given period to that location.

That all happened with WU in April I think, and there's been speculation on why these rules were imposed (i.e. were they forced to by government like was done with banks and online gambling) and when or if similar rules would pop up at MG. I really don't know if MG has limits for sending to any locations per month; I haven't looked into it myself and have only read one post here recently where a member thought MG had a sending cap of $3500/month. Like I said, I really don't know but might be worth your time to investigate if you are concerned.

I don't know if you always use the same name to send MG three times a week, as if you are I would imagine that you would have discovered if they have a sending cap. Opinion on sending MG using an alias is much debated because of the risk of monies being irretrievable if any changes need to be made or receiver can't pick up if you don't have ID or phone number matching the original MG.

From the posts of yours that I have read, esp because you have concerns about this, my suggestions would be it either: do one or two larger orders instead of three per week (which I realize has risk involved too) OR get one of the other people that contribute/share the orders to send money/receive shipment (this is info I thought I remembered from another post) OR ask vendor for another payment option (I don't have experience with this myself but had read that some vendors were offering different payment options for regular or larger order customers).

Don't know if any of this is useful to you but just my take on it. Good luck.

I also do a lot of weird mailing and what not due to ebay, Craigslist, world of warcraft (against their ToR). I run a few fantasy football sights where one guy is located in Pakistan and the other is based in India. I get packages from all over the world, prior to coming to this website. Also, my wife's best friend is always sending and receiving MG/WU from weird locations. He plays pro-ball in some south American country and they constantly send stuff back and forth. I would say you are fine, but sometimes your gut feeling is right. Maybe try something else for a few months.

Thanks all. And I am considering my other options. There is no money cap. If there is one, it is not being imposed on me as last month I sent out nearly 8,000 dollars. That is why I am concerned. It is such a large sum being sent and received that I know if they are watching, I am on their list.
The UPS guy has to wonder wtf I am getting all the time. It's a magazine sized envelope. Early AM, 3 times a week. Has to look at it and wonder wtf is so important to send something so many times at such a cost...
    Heh.. IDK...

Your UPS business is only unusual when you start thinking it is. Businesses and individuals conduct massive amounts of B2B/ I2I traffic via carriers everyday. Of course the product is not usually what we deal with but NO ONE else knows that or you would have had a visit already. It is all good. Be cool.
