    Default Prepaid Mastercard vent

    So mid February i signed up for a prepaid BMO mastercard since it appeared to be the best option for me, well i haven't received it in the mail yet.... So I called late last night and they gave me a different number to call. Today i called the number and the rep told me her supervisor had to take the call. The supervisor came on the phone and said that they had mailed a letter to me on February 20th to verify more security information... but i never received it, after doing some research the supervisor said they forget to attach the apartment number to my address, even though i added it to my application lol So after verifying the necessary information i was asked if i wanted to pay $25 to have my card expedited I was irritated but i said i was fine with waiting 7-10 business days..... Has anyone else experienced issues getting a prepaid mastercard? I don't mind verifying security questions but it seems a bit much for a prepaid mastercard plus all the waiting i have to do....

    @Samantha23 I don't have any experience with buying prepaid credit cards, but I do sympathize on your frustration on the matter lol. Something like this would have gone unnoticed by them, if you wouldn't have called, they wouldn't even have realized they never sent it out, which is really dumb on their part... And then some people go through the same hassle of aquiring one, try to order something, and because it's a foreign transaction the credit card company will want you to call them so you can speak to them. This doesn't happen every time, seems to happen on occasion to some people, it's not a big deal they just want to make sure it isn't a fraudulent charge .

    I have used AAA for this. Only an initial 5.00 charge. Then you put the dollar value you want on the card. There is no charge to re-load money. I had to appear in person to do this. It is a member benefit.

    AAA has always worked, but have not used it since 2009-2010. I think they are all pretty much the same, but customer service service is better. I plan to order soon, but have to wait until check arrives at my bank first.....not today for sure!

    Just a bit of a heads-up....don't know why any particular person needs a pre-paid card...but some businesses.....nudge, nudge, wink, wink....will not accept Mastercard.

    No Mastercard. Don't matter if said MasterCard is always paid, prepaid, slow pay, no pay, some pay or Payton Place.

    If it were me, and it is not...prepaid VISA. Google the subject and see the (smokey) light.

    I don't understand. Sorry, but until recently, my spouse an I had five teenagers between/among us. Now, there are no casalities, and there are three left teeneagers/children. We get more prepaid mastercards, prepaid visa cards, and prepaid Amex.....it is cheap, and necessary; Although I do no live in the same state as my mum, we are legally reponsible for TOO MANY OF THEM. Seriously, if you have teenagers, or twenty-somethings in college......we use AAA for everything.

    It includes AMEX, mastercard, and visa with no charge in my case, and I am forced to use the three of the more often, than not.

    I used to think that this was because of AAA, however, in the last month, we got aarp cards with the exact benefits that AAA has.

    @royce

    Every time I refresh my browser, there you are, with some kind of version of "I don't understand." Put aluminum foil antennae on your head, dude, then try really, really hard to understand. I am . . . getting signals . . . that you can figure it out.

    When I screw up...and I have. I post that that,

    If I delete a post... I post the reason.. Maybe it is simply because I do not understand. I think I deleted one post only- Might have been two. Sorry.....if I was sarcastic in any thread and offended you with what I said. I stand any descisions that I made to delete remarks that might be construed as insensitive. Usally such posts are brief and to the point being discussed....to the point trying to be discussed, and I apologized when necessary.

    I know I will do this again. I am tired tonite. That is not anyone's fault, but mine.

    MasterCard is persona nongrata for just about every IOP. MC security policies about international transactions are very strict and result in many, many denials of payment.

    Ok so a little bit of an update here.... I decided to get a reloadable visa from Canada post and used it for the first time today and it worked so far... I had to show my passport (no driver's license) and something with my address and was given a temp card until my personalized one comes in the mail.
