"Transaction unavailable, check your MTCN or contact Sender."
All the info is right when I put it in the WU website
What does this mean? That the receiver is blocked? Used a different name so I have no ID. Sent it about 2 hours ago..

I would recheck it shortly, this is the problem when using a fake name, recheck it then if you still get the error message youll have to call
NN
Every now and then i know its kind of hard to tell but Im still alive and well

They probably didn't update the consumer website yet. Just check again in a little while. But if you are having any doubts about the receiver or the transaction, you can always call WU over the phone and get the receiver name changed to your own real name so you can pick up the money, minus the original fee of course.

always check your recepit and be very polite when sending a moneygram or western union and people will be polite back.
make sure they spelled everything right including receivers first and last name. country etc.
just be polite to.

Did you go in person or online?
I tried faking a name online and it did not work. Money gram asked me all kinds of questions to identify who I was, but in the end declined the transactions. I ended having to go in person anyway. I stagger online useage with my real name, and going in person using my real name but with different phone numbers. MG tracks transactions by phone number only in person, so every time I make a transaction I'm asked if I have ever done one before because there is no record in system. I learned the hard way that if I want to get my money back if there's ever an issue, using my actual name for which I have an ID is necessary.

MG scares me with how much they already knew to verify it was me - not just things like old addresses, but names of cousins I haven't seen in decades and such. Super big-brothery, I only use them when its the ONLY option.
