Thread: MD Aligne Local Pick Up

Default MD Aligne Local Pick Up

So I got an email from MDA (Who I have ordered from since 2010) that local pick up will now be an option. Not sure if I should be excited about this or not. However, I wanted to share this information with the forum members in case anyone is interested.

    The email:

    Local Pharmacy Pick-up is HERE!
    Dear Valued Customer,

Why wait around sitting at home during these nice summer days for your package to arrive in the mail? With the added option of local pharmacy pick-up, you can receive your eligible medication from a local pharmacy at your convenience!
    Local pharmacy pick-up has arrived!

    No Shipping Costs
    Save Money
    Expanded Same Day Service Hours

So how do you use local pharmacy pick-up now that its available?

    1. With the Local Pick-Up option, enter the local zipcode.
    2. From the list of pharmacies, choose their preferred pharmacy for pick-up.
    3. Pay for the prescription online or over the phone.
    4. Once authorized, you will receive a confirmation email and receipt.
    5. When the prescription is ready, pick-up the pre-paid prescription at the selected pharmacy

Enjoy these nice summer days by taking a short drive with your windows down or if you're close enough, enjoy the weather by taking a walk to your pharmacy!
Use Coupon Code PICKUP5 (expires 7/19/13) for $5.00 OFF your next eligible prescription when you choose local pharmacy pick-up!
As always, we are committed to your health, your way

I am also curious if anyone else has used the local pickup service and if so, how was your experience? I checked the local pharmacies on their list and it included just about all the pharmacies around me including the big box and chain stores.

On 6/24/13 Local pickup is on hold and not being offered.

I'd be extremely wary of this deal. For one, the drugs you'd buy from most local Pharmacy's gonna be fully
identified in the online data base....available to all pharmacies and most doctors. Could possibly get your
ass in trouble if you've drawn the meds from multiple scripts. IMO, this service is totally worthless

Exclamation MD Aligne Local Pickup "On Hold"

Called this morning because local pickup had been removed from the ordering page.

They confirmed it is on hold pending "bugs being worked out" and might be back later this summer.

I think their local pickup lasted maybe 2 days?

Must be someone out there who frowns on them offering it.

Time will tell. at least code SAFER will get you $10 off your teleconsult

@Buz- Thanks for the update. I was really interested to hear what happened with this. Did they let you know if they provided that service to anyone and then put it on hold or put it on hold before anyone used it? Not that it really matters...I'm just a nosy Nellie.

@Buz, thanks for letting everybody know! I placed an order with them this morning and I just did my normal Express and COD. No mention was made from them regarding the local pickup option.

I don't know if it's just me but I was wary of such a service. I mean wouldn't a doctor from your state have to call the prescription in? It just seems like a lot ofhoops to go through. Obviously whatever they did didn't work. I wonder if they stopped it before anyone could use it ornif anyone did try and it just didn't work. Hmm.

I like being able to just have my meds delivered.

  7. My order was finally processed today, but local pickup still wasn't an option as of today. They told me I have to use USPS. They didn't have any specifics on when it will change.

I dont know about all states but 2 of my docs are in a neighboring state, well, actually about 100 miles away and I get prescriptions filled from them at home without any problem--paper and phone in's. I've also had tests done with scripts from one of those docs, ie: ultrasound and mammo. I've never had the need for controlled stuff from either of them but since tramadol isnt controlled here, I doubt it would be a problem. I'm guessing some pharmacy probably balked at it just on general principle and rather than draw attention, they shut it down. Maybe. I'm really just guessing on that part!

Yup, you're right, when I moved from one state to another, I was able to get scripts filled in my new state by my doc. I assume there are people who have out of state docs that get their meds filled at a local pharmacy. Sometimes people have to go to a specialist out of state, or a hospital with better resources.

I have to agree with @Bananabrains I didn't think it was going to pan out so I didn't even bother getting my hopes up. Like @Juno08 stated I like getting my meds delivered. Seems more private that way imo.

@scarlet-fiesta a friend of mine grandmother lives in GA but her pain specialist is in NC and she has no issues with her scripts. Guess it depends on the doc, pharmacist, and state

Correct if I'm wrong @ChillyCat but since you had to use your cc to get local pickup, couldn't that be an issue with the cc company? They may see it as fraudulent maybe?

    Absolutely not.

    IF.................

The company is legit, there's not gonna be any problem with CC's.
There are still company's shipping 180ct Trammys [next day guaranteed & second day] that have never
seen the term "tram-gate" nor have ever experienced any shipping problems. These very same folks,
have also not had issues with CC's

Doubt if local pickup would ever be any different , if the point of issuance is indeed legit

  13. Thanks for enlightening me guys! I wasn't entirely sure because I've never run into that issue before. In Ohio tramadol is sort of...? a controlled medication (I don't know if it is officially controlled yet, I know they were working on it and we have the PMP system in place here too) so I didn't know if that would have anything to do with it. To me, as awesome as MDA is I would still not want them to call in a prescription for me anywhere. I'll wait the extra day for Express shipping.

I just got an email from our good friends at MD Aligne and it said that they are resuming local pickup.
Has anyone here actually tried that option?

I received same email from MdA. They been great to me except for taking away the cod option. I assume its an Ohio thing. For me, cc is still better than other methods of payment.

Ooh, I'm very interested in this, particularly with my current dilemma and inability to see a doctor. Is it up and running or did they say if it will be soon? Did they provide a link to the local pickup program?

Default I'm trying MD Aligne's "Local Pharmacy Pickup" option

    Good morning,
I couldn't find a dedicated thread to this, so I thought I'd start my first one. I've been hearing and reading alot about MD Aligne's local pharmacy pick-up program. About a month or so ago, it seemed to launch and then go away again. Well this morning I found myself in a pickle and was forced to resort to a 90 Tram order (which I will only do with these guys just because of our long history). The local pharmacy pickup option was live so I choose it and place my order right after 9am EST this morning. I live in Atlanta and there were over a dozen pharmacy pickup options within 5 or 10 miles of me. Some of the participating pharmacies I saw were:

    Publix
    Rite Aid
    Costco
    CVS (I think)
    Walgreens (I think)

I can't recall the others but I can go back and look if you'd like. Although it's very easy to just log on and see for yourself since as soon as you choose a new consultation the local pickup option pops up. After confirming your choice it takes you to a map based on your shipping address. Mine pre-loaded because I was already logged in.

I dare say that I'm somewhat excited because I don't have to wait until tomorrow afternoon. I'm sure most of us have been in that situation where we forgot to order on Friday which means having to wait until Monday and even then you may not get it until Wednesday or later. I'll keep everyone posted on how the process goes. If everything goes the way it usually does, I'm anticipating picking it up sometime early this afternoon.

    Hello @Trey-Trey,

I have not used MD Aligne in more than a month. Thinking about using them for a Tram Rx reorder and using the local pharmacy pickup. I am "on the road" and not in my home state. I am in Washington DC. But anyways....

Here is my question: what is the fee structure for "local pickup pharmacy" compared to one of MD Aligne's networked pharmacy shops Express Mails the Rx medication? Is the fee less costly? Or is the fee the same?

thanks for sharing your experience with MD Aligne's "local pickup"!

  19. @Trey-Trey, thank you for posting this! Iíve recieved email from MDA about the local pharmacy pick up. The email seemed to suggest a lower cost because of no shipping. Is that true? Please keep us posted on your experience.

Thanks for the post. I have been leary of using the local pickup so I stick with the USPS option. I ordered yesterday &'only label printed so far. Hopefully tomorrow but definitely will be waiting for your update. Good luck & welcome.
