How can I get perscribed adderall

I'm a sophmore in college and although I've always done well in school, these days I am feeling like I need some assistance in staying focused and on task.I'll spend a whole day writing a paper that should only take an hour or so, but it takes me longer because I get distracted and take numerous "breaks" since I can't stay focused. While talking to one of my friends about this, they told me that their older sister was perscribed adderall and that it helped her improve her attention span on her school work and it also made her seem much happier, which would also be a plus since I am constantly stressed and overwhelmed, which is also causing insomnia-which also affects my ademdemic performance. Although I've never tried taking it, I really think I could benefit from taking adderall. However, I know adderall is generally used for adhd treatment, which I do not have. I need to know a way to approach my doctor on my interest in being prescribed adderall without making it seem like I just want these pills for recreational use, since I know some kids do this, thanks for your help! : )

Talk to your Doctor. Talk to him. Don't walk in like you're looking for a fix. Tell him whats going on. He might give you the prescription or he might give you something else.

Read what the drug does. It's not somthing you should just want to try to help with your problems from a recomendation from someones sister.

Adderall is not a drug used to stay focused. This like all drugs has side effects. Although it may be difficult, lots of people manage school without taking drugs. I don't want to sound mean you need to find a solution other than thinking a drug will be the answer.
