    Default western union prepaid

so a lot of people are using their credit cards. I used my credit card once but the site has been around for years and years with no problem. so since I no longer want to use my credit card I bought a western union prepaid card. they have a gold member status where you provide DOB and SS number and you can earn points. well i am cheap and greed so the points appealed to me, the SS number part did not. so i called and gave a fake SS number. they check some bank system -pro chexsystems-and no dice for me. so now i am thinking a credit card can be traced back so maybe i should just give them my social.
    what are your thoughts

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Nobody's going to take the time to track you down because you gave them a fake SS#. If you're worried about staying more anonymous, there are prepaid cards you can pick up that don't require a SS#.

Ah, my mistake, I misinterpreted the question. At the end of the day, it really comes down to your comfort level. Personally, I'd prefer privacy to getting some reward points, but each person has to figure that out for his or her self. If you're not making a ton of orders of large quantities of prescription drugs, then it might be an acceptable risk for you.

If you're looking to save some money on Western Union fees, I recently stumbled upon a way to get a 50% off transfer fees coupon. I was signing up for an account with western union, to send money online as I didn't feel like going out. I had gone through putting in my info with my email, physical address, etc. As a last step, they have to verify that you are actually at the location you entered. If you have a land line phone that you entered with your info and is tied to your address, they will give you a call and you can verify it instantly. I only use a cell phone, and so this option was unavailable to me. I had to select the option for them to mail me a letter to my physical address and then once I receive it, I have to go back online and enter a code to activate the account. At this point, I was a bit ticked off as it takes 2-4 days for the letter to come in the mail. To make up for this though, they give you a 50% off transfer fees coupon that you can print on the spot and take to one of their physical locations. Now, each time I use Western Union, I figure I'll just make up a new online account with bogus information and select the mail verification route just to get the coupon. I saved $11 in fees, so I was quite happy and will definitely do this every time I use them.

@riplayne I laughed out loud on that one. I am still debating on it. the good thing about the card is that I fig you can have people send you money and dont have to go down to wu.
