    Default UPS shipping question

I love tracking-- however! sometimes it just creates more worry for me! Does anyone know what it means if on the UPS tracking site it doesn't show the "usual" stuff? Such as: it doesn't list the city the package is going to, it doesn't show when it's scheduled for delivery (you know how it usually says "on time for delivery 12/14/2011 by 10:30 am) AND if I track it via an independent site (such as package trackr it says "in transit to Louisville, KY" which is NOT where I am located but it's where the next hub is located. I tried to look at other pacakges I have received via the independent sites and I do not see on any of them "in transit to Louisville, KY" or anything of the sort (but perhaps that all falls away once the package is delivered?!)

GEEZ! I know--I know--I will be certain tomorrow by 10:30 if it's coming to me but it's just hard to sleep knowing I could be SOL tomorrow! Of course I worry about most anything that can be worried about--it's just who I am.

Any words of comfort--maybe there is a UPS'er on here that knows? I wondered if just perhaps they are really swamped and not entering that kind of "stuff" right now.

    Thanks all!

Tracking is notoriously unreliable. Occasionally the information is up-to-the-hour accurate (i.e. package on truck for delivery), but more often the tracking can be a full day behind or even longer. Some people have had their packages arrive before the tracking even said anything. It sucks, but as you said you'll just have to wait until tomorrow morning to find out for sure.

And about the "in transit to Louisville, KY", this I have seen before on a couple ebay purchases I made. You're correct it's just one of their hubs, nothing to be concerned about here. Once it passes through the hub, a different status will be shown.

Thank you Reggin for taking a few minutes to re-assure me. Again, as I said, it doesn't really change anything but it does help settle me down a bit and hopefully sleep a little bit tonight with the thought that, hopefully, relief is really only a few hours away.

Take a couple Xanax and call us in the morning. You will be fine, and your package will arrive.

Package did arrive. Here's some info that might be helpful to anyone who is tracking. This instance hasn't ever happened to me so that's what threw me for a loop. So the tracking showed nothing: no weight, no ship to city, no day it was expected to be delivered--it did show tracking scans as normal (but only up to Louisville--it went through 3 more locations but I guess due to volume the scans weren't uploaded) but I had no way to verify it was even headed my way. Does that make sense? Usually it will show all of that info. I asked me UPS guy this morning and he said the shipper (in this case it was the UPS Store) didn't upload their manifest so all that would show on-line was the TN and the scans. The shipper has to enter all of that other "pertinent" info. That makes sense to me and it will also help me in the future should it ever happen again. I hope it helps anyone else who might be in the same position!

This happened to me recently....and I totally panicked, then realized that tracking after Thanksgiving is seriously strained to their limit due to volume.....and my package showed up no problem (although a day late---not complaining tho)
