Default Am I being paranoid? Mailman acting odd with ******** deliveries

Maybe it's just me but recently I've been ordering some products that are shipping from India. Not that often but maybe every couple months or so. I have a legit need for these things.
I always have the same mail guy and he seems a bit odd to begin with but today he made mention of you got another one of these airmail deliveries again.
It came off to me as sort of strange and now I am wondering do I need to be concerned about someone at his level? I mean could he initiate some kind of flag on my name or some mess?
Probably overreacting but I really don't need more problems in my life.
    Thx

I would not worry since you're only ordering every couple months and for personal use. It's none of the mailman's business really and they'd have to go to some pretty great lengths to make an issue out of something so petty.

If you are worried about the mailman why not buy some legit airmail items? May I suggest $0.99 items from eBay and the abundant China/HK/Singapore sellers. Need a phone sync cable? Car Charger? Cheapo toy? General crap? Buy buy buy and all for $1 or $2...
All of my posts are fictitious and fantasy. Isn't the internet a blast?

I kind of like that idea. Do you have to sign for those, also? I think that's part of the issue.

I wouldnt worry. Do you realize how many people conduct business with ******** companies including India & get deliveries constantly. It is certainly not suspicious to get packages every now & again . If anyone ever casually asks about it just say its computer software. Thats a line I like to use.

Funny thing was I was going to use that line since I am in the IT business. Thanks for calming my irrational fears. After having one package seized I was pretty paranoid for a while about that.

@NotMyRealName is spot on, I order things online constantly, usually completely legal things - from laptops and other gadgets to clothes to stuff for the home, so they think nothing of me getting another package.

    @COSGringo:YES, he can.
If you live in a big city, perhaps you don't need to worry. If you live in a small town, yes: it's not at all unusual for a local postmaster to notice certain repetitive mailings that aren't bills or usual daily correspondence -- and report them.
I can't be more specific here; I apologize for that. Go with your gut -- and be careful.

Right you're a devout Buddhist and you order real incense from there.
They only make it in Northern India.. Dharamsala.
My wife is a devout Buddhist and she orders special incense.
Smells like high grade Sensemilla (seedless) to me and I often tease her about it since she never smokes or drinks.
However. @Luthien makes a good point. If you live in a small town maybe rent a mailbox?

Hmmm. Now I am a bit concerned again. It turns out that mail guy is a bit odd. My wife said the same thing. He was our regular guy but now he just does these special deliveries.
I am not in a small town but it feels like a small town at times.
    What could he actually initiate?
    Thx

I don't think I understand @COSGringo, he was your regular guy, got replaced by a new guy, and now only delivers when they're your 'special packages'?

    @COSGringo Yes please explain.
Your post is confusing. You mention your regular guy making
special deliveries only now? Does that mean you got your package?
Is there someone else who delivers regular mail?

He's a mailman - of course he's going to notice what he delivers and if he sees you there's probably nothing else for him to make conversation about (I'm assuming he's not English and doesn't wish to discuss the weather ad nauseam).

If he was suspicious I seriously doubt whether he'd have made any comment at all as he wouldn't want to alert you to his suspicions.

Believe me, I can understand your paranoia as this just the sort of innocent comment that would probably set my mind racing.

But most people are far too wrapped up in their own lives to give much thought to anything else.

Until one of your packages arrives open or tampered with there's no reason to suspect that the mailman has any idea what's in it - assuming he even cares.

And if he doesn't know there's nothing for him to report.

Is he going to report everyone who gets a few packages from India?

Really, I wouldn't give it another thought.

I guess the question is has he said something to you or is it just a feeling? Did he give you a look?

I wouldn't worry about it his job is hard enough I would say don't worry until there is something to worry about. Unless you're going to ask him (which I doubt) why bother worrying yourself since there is no real answer to this because nobody except him knows what he's thinking!

    Are you signing for these?

I live in a small town and overnight mail and special mail is not delivered by our regular postman. It is delivered by someone who works in the local post office. This is because our PO is so small and so busy they do not have the resources. In fact some of our delivery people our contracted out.

The lines in my small town post office are always long and there are boxes everywhere.

Thanks all. We have a regular mail guy that delivers our daily normal mail. This guy once did that but I think he's a bit odd to begin with so maybe he get's to deliver the mail that people have to sign for or just special packages.
I have not seen anything tampered with. I am game with the E Bay idea just wondering though if they have to be signed for. That seems to be the only thing this "special" mail guy does. I get the feeling they just gave him this job to keep him out of the normal mix. Just guessing though.
The odd feeling I get is just how he mentions they it's from ******** and just seems to stare at the package. He then mentions how it's another one of those pacakages. He could just be a Forrest Gump of mail delivery guys.
Guess I'll just worry about it when it happens. I am not dealing with anything major here.
Just don't want to get in the midst of any mess.

Aven, that's exactly it. I have to sign for them and we have someone that does that alone now. Not sure why. No biggie. I am not in a small town but things kind of work like a small town here. Tough to explain.
