Being new here I like the idea of using the post ratings, it gives some feedback on the persons post with having to answer each and every post. I used to belong to the other site that is now shut down, I was a member there for years and years, now I have to find my way around here.

If someone helps you out or gives you valuable advise, it would be very polite to click on the little thumbs up icon at the bottom of there post.

Doing so will really help and let the other user know how their doing.

    Thanks for reading.
I would agree with you . I have been on many sites and something like this would be of a great help

(Unless you are trying to just get access). It is not courteous to see that someone has practically verbatim latched on to someone elses coattails and has received a "thumbs up" while the first post received nothing.
I didn't give a "thumbs up" to that person but this is somewhat a pet peeve of mine.

I have a PR pet peeve that I wanted to post but I didn’t want to start it as new thread because that is my pet peeve, we seem to have too many threads. This thread seemed as a good a place as any (plus it’s sticky). Here’s the numbers from about hour ago.

    Threads 21321
    Posts 154787

I’ve noticed people often start a new thread when there is already a thread on the topic (or close enough to the topic). It’s not just the new people with 5 or 6 posts but I noticed one this morning where the person had almost 100 posts. A lot of important topics have important info spread across multiple threads. Anyway – off my soapbox.

Looking forward to all resposes...positive and negative (think of whack-a-mole)

I’d agree with you somewhat. There are a ton of needless repeats, especially with people posting on topics that they don’t know exist in the senior member area.

It kind of is ridiculous to start a new thread for a review of a pharmacy we already have thread on, or even discussion of any general topic.

I do think it’s ok to start a new thread if someone wants a more individualized discussion about their situation. For example if there’s a general discussion thread about drug X, but someone wants advice on if they should take drug x or not given their individual circumstances, what other treatments options, they’ve tried, and maybe people recommend they use product Y instead. A situation like this would be a different but related topic. I think there’s a fine line between derailing the topic of a thread with semi-related stuff as opposed to creating a new one.

I think it’s hard to say in many cases, some people might feel that they are getting a more personal response if they have concerns by starting their own thread. On the other hand, we have multiple threads on the same vendor in many situations which I don’t see a reason for.

@Carter i just bumbled onto this thread looking for a place to avoid doing exactly your pet peeve. I haven't been here long and awhile ago i had 3 posts deleted by Kris. @crucibelle one of them was my "cranky rant " yesterday. Glad i had a chance to apologize and air it out first. In case another one i just posted an hour ago gets dissolved I'll ask here. How do you find out what is or is not allowed where?

I think that this site is really helpful. I have found tons of sources easily. It does take time and patience and it is very important that you read and use the search engine to find out about pharmacies and medications. I have started giving members that say something helpful a thumbs up also. I try to do 10 or more a day. I hope everyone else remembers to give members a thumb up also.

Yes, mods - just to reiterate; he isn't a shill and I have *never* pm'd him or anyone else
to ask for 'like' ratings. For individuals - such as myself - who possess Olympian levels of self-confidence and belief, 'likes' and 'helpfuls' are of no consequence.

    (Or delusions of grandeur).

Anyway, off to watch the rugby with Mr. Scrumpy Jack.
