Xanax Question Does it work

I have been prescribed Xanax to relive stress. I am really weary of taking pills, and I have heard of many people getting addicted to them.

I have been taking one .5mg per day for about a week and I really don't feel any different. It only makes me sleepy.

Should I just stop taking the drug and find something else to soothe the tension, or does it take a while for the drug to kick in?

Any advise would be great. Thanks.
