Xanax daily?

I have problems with anxiety and panic disorder. I went to a doctor and we tried SSRI's. They did nothing for me. He prescribed xanax daily though I took it as needed. It helped out a great deal. The problem is, before I started xanax anxiety was a daily problem for me. So I am thinking about taking it daily but many people on this site seem to argue against it. Well, I would argue that the days that I am not taking the stress and anxiety is doing more harm than a daily regiment of xanax ever would. I've tried SSRI's, therapy, books, and my own coping methods. Nothing seems to relieve my anxiety except xanax. So why can't I take it daily?
I would like opinions from people who agree and disagree with me. All opinions welcomed

if your doctor (psychiatrist) consulted you to take xanax daily you should take . xanax(alprazolam ) is the medicine which is used for panic disorders, and in panic disorder xanax is used for a long period of time

If taking the xanax daily is what the doctor ordered and helps you to feel better, ignore those who say you shouldn't take it. Your doctor knows the situation (and about the medication) not most of the people on here. You have a right to have less stress and anxiety. Some people just need that extra help. You have tried other methods for coping and they haven't worked for you. Sounds like you have given it a fair try. Keep in mind that over time, the dose may not work as well for you and you may need to have it increased, see your doctor for that. Don't self adjust the dose. Good luck!
