is there anything i can do about the side effects of coming off zoloft
I've been on zoloft for about a year and a half at 100mg. My dr switched me to 50mg and i did that for 3 months and he said it was safe to go off totally. I'm still in the first week but i'm so dizzy that it's hard to do much of anything. I had to call for a ride home from work because i was afriad to drive. How long does this last? Also, is it normal to feel very anxious? Any tips on how to deal with this?

Zoloft half life is one day, which is long. That means while you were on it the amount in your system was twice the the dose value. For the 50mg you maintained 100mg in your system. Try to contact your Doctor and get new instructions, they are generally not very sympathetic (stupid).

You HAVE to wean yourself off slowly. You just cannot stop taking it. Take it one day, don't the next, take it again, then skip two days, ask your doctor how to wean off. I'm floored he didn't go into it with you.

that will clear up in the next week.. it takes 10-14 days for it to work out of your body.. eating healthy.. lots of fruits and veggies.. and tons of water .. as much as you can stand.. if you dont like plain water.. get some of those tea or flavor additive packets.

exercising will help some too.. since you muscles tend to store some of the meds .. if you walk or run with a buddy.. for someone to watch incase you get dizzy..
