Im scared to take xanax should i for my anxiety?

I dont take meds not even when im sick..but i do have a high tolerance for alcohol..in which i would never drink and take xanax with..I was just wondering are the negative effects are scary when you take it...and what are the most common experienced. the docor prescribed 25mg is that alot? Just being the panicky person that i am i hve concerns someone please let me know what to expect...because the main reason i dnt take meds is because i always read the negative side effects and they freak me out. LET ME KNOW PLEASE!

there is no such thing as 25mgs of xanax. they come in .25 .5 1 and 2 mgs....its not bad it just calms you down makes you feel slow. and if you take it with alcohol which is pretty much the only time i take them. it just amplifies the effects. also if you take too much xanax like more than 2 mgs and drink more than a beer or two then you wont remmeber things the next day. if your just starting out and are worried dont take more than 1 mg of xanax at a time with or without alcohol and youll be fine.
