I just took 300mg of Zoloft (Sertraline), will I be okay
I've never taken an antidepressant before. I don't take any pills at all usually. I thought I was taking much less. I read 200mg is the maximum dose but people usually work their way up to that. Is 300mg really bad? Any suggestions?

Be careful, dude. I've overdosed way too many times and sometimes recovery isn't so easy. If you're worried, call poison control, but here's the info from the drug monograph.

Overdose

Symptoms and Treatment:
Human Experience:
There have been 3 cases of sertraline overdosage (approximately 4 to 10 times the maximum recommended daily dose). These 3 patients recovered completely without the need for specific therapy.

Management of Overdoses:
Establish and maintain an airway, insure adequate oxygenation and ventilation. Activated charcoal, which may be used with sorbitol, may be as or more effective than emesis or lavage, and should be considered in treating overdose.

Cardiac and vital signs monitoring are recommended along with general symptomatic and supportive measures.

There are no specific antidotes for sertraline.

Due to the large volume of distribution of sertraline, forced diuresis, dialysis, hemoperfusion, and exchange transfusion are unlikely to be of benefit.

In managing overdose, the possibility of multiple drug involvement must be considered.

just go by what your doctor has prescribed to you
my personal opinionis that pills dotn make things better but a change of life style does

these pills can really mess with your head so think twice about taking them

First I would ask why you took 300 when you already know 200 is the max ?I don't think it will hurt you but I don't recommend you doing it again .I take 200 Zoloft a day and have for years and once I forgot I had taken it and took it again and that was 400 Mg's And I was OK .Be more careful OK .
